Questions, feedback, or something not working? Send us a message and we'll get back to you at your email address. You can also reach us directly at info@brieflyrecruiting.com.
When you'll hear back
Messages land in a mailbox read by the recruiting team at Briefly Recruiting, not by a support desk. We answer on weekdays, usually within one working day and always within three. If your message concerns something broken in the builder, it helps enormously to tell us which browser you used, which step you were on, and what you saw on screen instead of what you expected.
What we can help with
- Something isn't working. An upload that won't read, a PDF that exports with the wrong spacing, a score that looks wrong for the document you submitted.
- Feedback on the scoring. If a piece of advice contradicts what you've been told by a recruiter in your field, tell us. We adjust the rubric when the argument holds up.
- Corrections to the guides. Job-market facts move. If an article is out of date or wrong, point at the passage and we'll fix it and note the update date.
- Press, partnership and recruiting enquiries. Briefly Recruiting also runs searches for client companies; those enquiries reach the same inbox.
- Data protection requests. Access, correction or erasure of any correspondence we hold. Put "Data protection inquiry" in the subject line.
What we can't do
We can't write your résumé for you by email, review documents individually for free, or promise an introduction to a specific employer. The builder and the rating tool are the practical help we can offer at scale, and both are free with no account and no upsell. If you're looking for hands-on advice, start with the guides — they cover the questions we're asked most often, in more depth than an email reply allows.

Questions we answer several times a week
- "My upload came back empty — what happened?"
- Almost always the file is a scan or an image exported as a PDF, so there is no text layer to read. Open the file and try to select a word with your cursor. If nothing highlights, the document is a picture. Export a fresh PDF from Word, Pages or Google Docs and it will read correctly.
- "The score seems harsh. Is it broken?"
- The rubric is deliberately strict on three things: measurable outcomes in your bullets, consistent dates, and length against your years of experience. A strong document that simply describes duties rather than results will score lower than it feels like it should. That is intentional, and the report tells you exactly which lines caused it.
- "Do you keep the résumé I upload?"
- No. Your draft exists in the browser tab while you work and disappears when you reload the page or press Start over. There is no account and nothing to delete afterwards. The privacy policy sets out the detail.
- "Can I use the exported PDF commercially?"
- The document is yours. Send it to as many employers as you like, edit it elsewhere, or reuse the wording. We claim nothing over the content you write.
- "Will you review my résumé personally?"
- Not by email, and not for free — we would not be able to keep up. Run the document through Rate My Résumé instead. It applies the same checks a recruiter makes in the first screen, and it does it in about a minute.
Reaching a human faster
One clear message beats three short ones. Tell us what you were trying to do, what happened, and what you expected. Paste the exact wording of any error. If it is a layout problem, a screenshot attached to a direct email to info@brieflyrecruiting.com resolves it much quicker than a description. We read everything, including the messages telling us something is wrong — those are the most useful ones we get.
