About us
My Perfect CV is a free résumé builder and résumé scoring tool operated by Briefly Recruiting, a recruiting practice based in Düsseldorf, Germany. We spend our working days reading applications for real vacancies, and we kept seeing the same thing: strong candidates being filtered out because of how their résumé was written and structured, not because of what they had actually achieved. This site is our attempt to close that gap for everyone, not just the candidates we happen to place.
What we offer
The site does two things. The résumé builder walks you through your work history, education, and skills, optionally reads your existing résumé or a job posting you paste in, and produces a clean, ATS-readable PDF plus a matching cover letter. The résumé rating tool takes a résumé you already have and scores it the way a recruiter would: spelling and grammar, structure, length, evidence of impact, readability, machine readability, and contact details. You get a score, a category-by-category breakdown, and the specific problem passages highlighted on your own document so you can fix them in minutes.
Who writes the content
Our guides, résumé examples, and landing pages are written in-house by the recruiting team at Briefly Recruiting, drawing on the applications, screening calls, and hiring manager feedback we handle every week. Where we make a claim about what works, it comes from what we have seen decide real hiring processes — not from generic advice recycled from other career sites. The scoring rubric behind the rating tool is the same checklist we use when we review a candidate's documents before submitting them to a client.
How the tool works
Everything happens in your browser session. You do not need an account, and your résumé is not stored on our servers after your session ends — reloading the page starts you from a blank slate. Document text is sent to a language model only for the length of the request that generates or scores your résumé, and it is never used to train models. The details are in our privacy policy.
How we fund it
The builder and the rating tool are free to use, with no trial, no paywall, and no upsell. We cover the cost of running the site through display advertising and through people who discover Briefly Recruiting here and later work with us on a search. Ads are clearly separated from our own content, and they never influence what our guides recommend or how the rating tool scores a document.
