Step 1 of 2Upload CV

Turn your experience into a clean, recruiter-ready résumé in minutes. Upload an existing CV or start from scratch, optionally paste the job posting you are applying for, and your wording is shaped to match that role. Download the finished CV as a PDF — and generate a matching cover letter — free, with no account and no credit card.

Tailored to the job

Paste a job description or URL and your CV is rewritten around the skills that posting asks for, so recruiters see the match immediately.

ATS-friendly formatting

A clear, parseable structure that applicant tracking systems can read without losing content, so your application reaches a human reviewer.

How it works: upload your current CV or start fresh, check your details, add the role you are targeting, then preview and download your finished CV.

What an ATS actually does to your file

An applicant tracking system is a database, not a judge. When you apply, it converts your document into text and tries to map that text onto fields: name, contact, employers, dates, titles, education, skills. A recruiter then searches and filters that database.

Rejections at this stage are rarely about quality. They happen because a parser could not find something it needed, or because the recruiter's search terms never appear in your text. Both problems are fixable in an afternoon.

  • Multi-column layouts read left-to-right and interleave unrelated lines
  • Headers and footers are often dropped entirely — never put your phone number there
  • Contact details inside an image cannot be read at all
  • Non-standard headings like 'Where I've Been' don't map to 'Experience'
  • Missing month-year dates create gaps the system reads as unemployment

How this checker scores your CV

Your file is read the same way a parser reads it, then reviewed across seven dimensions: spelling and grammar, structure, length, content quality, design, measurable impact, and readability. Each gets its own score and written comments, and you receive an overall figure out of 100.

The report is specific to your document — it names the bullets that lack evidence, the sections that are missing, and the formatting choices that risk being lost in parsing. Nothing is generic advice you could have found on a blog.

Sample: what a low-scoring CV looks like to a parser

Here is a two-column CV header, and what the parsing software extracts from it.

On screen

  • MARIA SCHMIDT | Senior Analyst
  • Left column: Skills — SQL, Python, Tableau
  • Right column: Experience — Analyst, Nordwerk GmbH, 2021–2025

What the ATS stored

  • Name: MARIA SCHMIDT | Senior Analyst
  • Experience: Skills SQL Python Tableau Analyst Nordwerk GmbH 2021 2025
  • Employer: (empty) — Dates: (empty)

Nothing was misspelled. The layout alone destroyed the record.

Frequently asked questions

Which file formats can I check?
PDF and Word documents. A text-based PDF gives the most accurate result; a scanned image of a printed CV is exactly the case an ATS cannot read either.
What is a good ATS score?
Above 80 means the document parses cleanly and reads well. Between 60 and 80 usually points to formatting or missing-evidence issues. Below 60 normally means structural problems worth rebuilding around.
Does a high score guarantee an interview?
No. It means your CV will be found and read correctly. Relevance to the specific role is the next step, which is what tailoring handles.
